Today was a great day. Slept in till 9, putzed around on the computer awhile, then walked all the way down to Haight Street (through Golden Gate Park) to Amoeba Records. Didn't have time to go in, as Steve and I were meeting Vic and Dave for lunch at Memphis Minnie's Bar-B-Que. Mmmmm, great brisket. V&D gave me a nice card and a nice gift certificate to Tower. They know what I like. The four of us strolled around the Haight a bit and got some coffee, which we drank outside to enjoy the absolutely gorgeous weather. Then V&D drove us home, where we napped and hung out (I watched my weekly dose of EastEnders on TiVo). At 5:30 Tony and John arrived to take us down to Sushi Chardonnay in Cow Hollow for dinner. They also gave me nice card and a nice gift certificate to Target. We're a goin' shopping tomorrow!! Steve presented me with a lovely card, a western shirt from his Texas trip, several DVDs and boxed sets, and a bear flag sarong to parade in down in Palm Springs by the pool. After dinner we came back to our house and watched The Day The Earth Stood Still. And I got lots of online e-cards and best wishes. And a very moving card from my sister Judy back in New York State and her husband John. They never forget.
A happy birthday was had by me. Thanks, everybody!
P.S. -- I like to kick, and stretch, and kick. I'm 48!
