Is it over already?...

...the weekend, that is. They go by so fast. Saturday, I caught up on sleep, then puttered around. Steve (rootbeer1) offered to take me to Ye Itty Bitty Tea Shoppe at Clipper and Church (not its real name, but that's what I call it), so at 4 o'clock we headed down the hill, looking forward to a nice pot of Darjeeling and a three-tiered plate of watercress and fishpaste sandwiches and petit-fours. Alas, there was a 90-minute wait, so we walked a block to Eric's and had an early dinner. Then off to Tower, where we purchased the first season of That Girl, newly released.

This morning we tried to drive downtown to have breakfast with Steve's Aunt Doris and her husband Don, visiting from San Antonio TX. We were meeting them at the grand old St. Francis Hotel on Unon Square where they were staying, but didn't anticipate how messed up traffic would be due to the Bay to Breakers footrace. But my superior driving skills got us out of the jam, and via SOMA, right up to the Union Square parking garage. We had a nice time with Aunt Doris, and Uncle Don was very charming. We came home and napped. Dave called around 4 and invited us to join him and our friend Calvin for a burger. Now we're home and watching TV and doing a few chores. Thrilling, huh?
