Last Friday
rootbeer1 and I had lunch downtown, the last chance we'd have to be together until he returns from his trip to Texas to visit friends and attend his family reunion. I'm remaining in San Francisco, because a) I don't like flying anymore, b) I don't like high temperatures coupled with high humidity, and c) I don't have a lot of vacation time left, and we want to take a trip in October. Steve has been calling me and is having a great, although hot and muggy, time. He went ahead and got the new Harry Potter book and has finished it already, so I'll have to wait till he comes home to read it. Ah well, I've got numerous seasons of
The Duchess of Duke Street to amuse me.
Our friend Dave, who stays with us from time to time when he's in town for work, arrived Friday afternoon, so I didn't come home to an empty house. We went out to eat at a Peruvian restaurant in West Portal, a neighborhood about a mile away. On Saturday I fetched
double_ohsteven, and
keanubear and Greg came over to pick us up and drive to Guerneville for the day. Well, traffic was less than cooperative, so it was 4:00 PM by the time we parked and met up with friends (
sfgarry,
gabecentric, Neil, Brian, and hundreds more). We decided to forego the official pool parties and headed over to the Brookside, where friends were staying, and swam in their pool. We stopped in Sebastopol on the way home for dinner, and I started coughing a bit that evening.
Sunday morning I was wiped out, and my chest was really congested. Dave and I drove around and looked at a few open houses, then home to rest before Victor and Mel came over to go out to dinner. I was feeling worse, but hadn't seen V&M in a while, and Dave really wanted us to all get together. I'm glad we did, but this cold/flu has been hanging on. I've been home from work the last two days. It's getting a bit better (I'm not coughing as much, though I'm still wiped out). Dave left Monday afternoon, so I'm baching it till Steve gets home. Tonight I plan to go to the FCD Intro night, because V&M are going, as well as John & Greg. I might not dance--depends on how I feel. But I hate being sick! I'm pushing the liquids and vitamin C.
Oh, and Happy Birthday
dr_scott!
That's it for now.

Get well so you can enjoy summer. :-)
Oh my! I see a toaster oven in your future!! With friends Bert and Steve also coming (Steve will refuse to dance, silly boy), we should have a nice big crowd of newbies. Woohoo!
Oh, free pizza tonight too, bring your appetite!
Should be a lot of fun tonight. My first time in the new space, too.
Oooh Gemma Jones at her best. I used to watch on Masterpiece Theatre when I was 8 or 9. No wonder my parents were terrified by me...
He'll be home soon. And you'll be better soon too.
I did try to call on Saturday (we drove right by where you were staying), and although my phone is Cingular, it was very spotty--in and out. I think I got your voice mail, but wasn't able to leave a message.
I hope you guys had a good time--you'll have to tell us all about it!
And anyway, it couldn't hurt....
