What up

We had our dear friend Gregg and his sweet and wonderful boyfriend Jim (sflonestar) over for dinner on Friday. Le menu:

Cold Cream of Cucumber Soup
Indivdual Beef Wellingtons with Pate de Fois Gras
Roasted Yellow and Red Tomatoes stuffed with Goat Cheese and Mozzarella
Steamed Broccoli Spears
Apple Pie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

And of course, flowing libations. It was so great to see Gregg and Jim interact, so happy, playful, and obviously so smitten with each other. Steve (rootbeer1) and I have been friends with Gregg for years and years, and when we met Jim, immediately saw the potential there for friendship between the two. It's very heartwarming to see them both so happy.

Saturday we met a guy we know from online, Tim, at his hotel south of SFO to have brunch and hang out. Tim is a flight attendant and was in town on a layover. It was great hanging out and getting to know him--he has a great dry sense of humor. At one point we were back at our house watching the Seinfeld episode "The Airport" and giggling all through it. Elaine returns to her seat from the rest room and discovers she missed the meal service:

Elaine (to flight attendant): Excuse me, I didn't get a meal.
Attendant: Are you sure?
Elaine: Am I sure? Of course I'm sure! I think I would know if a meal had been served to me!!
Attendant (sarcastically): Would you?

Tim said, "I'll have to remember that one!"

In the evening we hiked over to The Mint for Mike's (deaconcub) birthday karaoke bash. Many LJer's were there, of course. Steve and I sang Morning Has Broken (Cat Stevens) in its original key, which was a bit low for me, but it was fun. We left a little early due to Steve's having a little stomach upset. Alll better now.

Today we're relaxing, maybe get some sun, maybe go to a few open houses (cause we're nosy looky-loos), maybe see the Batman movie.

That's it!

It's really great to hear that sflonestar has found a wonderful boyfriend. I am happy to hear that Gregg treats him well; he is quite a special individual. Your dinner sounds like a gourmet delight; unfortunately, I would have to forego the Beef Wellington, I am unable to digest beef. hugs

Thanks--we do love to cook. I'm going to try the Wellingtons with pork tenderloin someday.

It was our first visit to The Mint. Seems like a fun place. The company was definitely fine, and everyone singing did great!!

Great seeing you too, as always.

When we were running around in the afternoon, we stopped and got turkey wraps at Arby's in South City, which may account for the digestive problems (I was fine, though).

I believe Larry and I met Greg and Jim here in Fresno couple of weeks ago? "I could be wrong, I'm horrible with names!"

Anyway, sweet fellas =) had a great time yakkin with em at the Den.

I think you met John (keanubear) and Greg, who live up the street from us. John and Greg, not Jim and Gregg.
