Our Tree

I wanted to post a couple of pictures of our bottle-brush tree in full bloom:

I just love it--we didn't have these back in upstate New York.

We had planned to visit friends in Santa Cruz this weekend, but a problem with our production Unix host at work meant I had to stick around. I still might have to go into work today to reboot the thing--we don't want to make our SA come in from Redwood City--he's worked almost round the clock since Wednesday, and needs time at home to rest. Plus, his voice gave out from talking with Sun engineers for hours and hours. I'm sure we'll get it all straightened out.

Steve is finishing his last homework assignment for his sysadmin course, and also scrubbing the guest bathroom. Our friends Djamel and Bruno from Paris are coming into town this week, and next week they'll be staying with us. They're so sweet--they're bringing pastis and fois gras for us from France.

Yeah, it was there, but cut back by the previous owners, so it had no blossoms. We've decided to let it go au naturel. Hey, let us know when you'll be in town again!
