Went to the gym after work and surprised myself by swimming double my usual number of laps. Down two more pounds from last Friday, too. That makes 19 total since January--not as fast as Steve, but my metabolism does run slower. And I'm taking a medication that slows weight loss as a side effect. I don't mind--the slower I lose it, the longer I'll keep it off. But I fully intend to stay on this diet indefinitely and just increase portions a bit when I reach my goal. I really love the whole grains and legumes and all the vegetables. Who knows--maybe I'll go vegetarian!
After the gym we stopped at Tower Video and took advantage of the big sale. I got:
The Triplets of Belleville
The Last Samurai
Torch Song Trilogy
The Wiz
The Sonny and Cher Ultimate Collection
Mary and Rhoda
OK, Mary and Rhoda really sucked when we saw it on TV. The story is set 30 years later--Mary's a widow and Rhoda's divorced yet again. It could have been so much better. But it was on sale for $9.99, and, well, it's Mary, after all.
Steve's cooking cheeseburgers (not quite vegetarian yet, though I do love Morningstar Grillers) and we're going to watch TiVo'ed Ebert and Roeper and later, American Idol. We loves us some pop culture, we does.
