Short/Long Week

Short work week, thanks to President's Day. Tuesday I had to pack all my workly goods in boxes so I could be moved to a new temporary cube, while my existing cube (with a window *sob*) and the one adjacent are demolished and converted into an big vice-presidential office. Well, I can work just about anywhere, but I will miss the view. I'm leaving everything in the boxes until the final move 12 weeks from now to who-knows-where. The current cube is directly outside the big conference room on our floor, and the printer/fax machine bay, which thanks to the construction now has three printers and two fax machines. So there's a huge amount of traffic right outside my opening, including lots of strangers from all over the building. I've had to hang a tasteful Quiet Please sign outside to keep the post-conference chit-chat to a minimum, plus I've taken to wearing my headphones all day long.

Went to the gym Wednesday right after work and had a good swim, followed by whirlpool and steam room time. I usually come home after work and drive to the gym, meeting Steve there, but Wednesday I took the bus too, so we had to take the dreaded 22 to the Castro to catch the 37 up the hill.

I was planning to do the usual drive to the gym this afternoon, but when I got home I discovered broken glass all over the street in front of our driveway. Today was garbage day, and apparently an empty Snapple bottle escaped from our recycling bin. So I got out our trusty pushbroom and swept, swept, swept the street. It felt like shoveling snow. I came in and told Steve when he called that I had already exercised for the day, which was true.

I'm glad the weekend is here. I'm gonna buy some new Timberland boots. Baby needs a new pair a shoes!

I find that 4 day work weeks (where Monday is the holiday) end up seeming longer than normal 5 day weeks.

Yeah, cause we have to do 5 days worth of work in 4. Sheesh!

what gym do you go to dear?

Club One at the Fillmore Center. Our membership allows us to go to any Club One in the Bay Area, and we often do, but the Fillmore Center one is our usual, from the time we used to live in the FC apartments. It has a nice pool, lots of cardio stuff, and Steve likes the weight machines.

Your posting lays bare just what the righteous in this country have been warning us about all along!

It's such a shameful tale of the dreaded gay agenda:
1. working (and probably even paying taxes!),
2. going to the gym!,
3. cleaning your property (shamefully keeping your neighborhood clean!), and
4. (perhaps most shockingly) buying shoes!

Shocking, isn't it? Sometimes we even <gasp> clean the toilets.

Now, that's disgusting!

I mean... seriously.

It is.

Mark Fiore made an animation about this. Terrifying indeed :-)

"...including lots of strangers from all over the building"
