Interesting--I was an architecture (#1) major for a while in college, and it was my original primary career choice. I ended up in civil engineering, then computer science (#4,#5, #8), and today I am a computer engineer (#2). I took mechanical drawing for 3 years in high school and did a lot of drafting (#3) in architecture school. I love maps (#7) real estate (#6), and origami (#10). Air traffic controller (#9) is the only puzzler.

I find it very hard to imagine anyone looking at that and saying "Oh yeah, mathematician, what a good idea!" I mean, if you're going to become a mathematician, you sort of already know that, right? I figure you almost have to be born into it.

The air traffic control thing is probably because it's all about dealing with extremely rigorous information systems where you can't make mistakes. Rather like drafting, but with higher stakes. ;-)

True---but I hate to fly! I guess if you're a controller you're necessarily on the ground, so maybe it would work out after all.

I agree about mathematicians--I think it's more of a calling, more a reflection of how your brain works in a certain way. I was always pretty good at math, and fascinated by some aspects of it, but never for a minute considered it as a career or calling. It's more of a tool for me.

This is worrisome....I sat here for several minutes trying to find the link between computer programmer-type people, mathematicians, drafters --- and choreographers. I finally squinted really hard and #7 is CARTOGRAPHER! Guess I'm going from 1.50 to 1.75 my next glasses purchase.
Hope you two are OK. HUGS
