Family Ties

The weather in San Francisco has been gorgeous the last few days, so we decided to walk down Portola/Market Street to the Castro both Friday, on the way to work, and yesterday, to have lunch and shop a bit. The hike takes about 40 minutes, and is all downhill, so it's a pleasant way to get exercise. But my calves are so sore! The panoramic views from upper Market are well worth the pain, though.

We lunched at the Bombay Indian restaurant, which has a $6.95 all-you-can-eat buffet on the weekends. The food is so-so; not a huge selection, but fairly tasty. We both treated ourselves to mango lassis with lunch.

After eating, we stopped in a few shops, including Tower Video (of course) where we got the new Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2-disc set. Then over to Starbucks, where we slurped Slurpees from the 7-Eleven and chatted with friends for a while. We dragged ourselves home on MUNI and took long naps. In the evening we went over to David and Andrea's house (Steve's brother and sister-in-law) for dinner. Steve works with David, so Steve sees him every day but I don't, and I've been missing them. We planned to watch Run Lola Run after dinner, but were talking and catching up so much that it was close to 10:00 before we knew it. We all agreed that we have to get together more often.
