Busy

Well, last weekend was quite full of events, well chronicled on rootbeer1's journal. Many LJers, and especially nice to see 50poundnote in town and give him big hugs.

Went to the gym after work and surprised myself by swimming double my usual number of laps. Down two more pounds from last Friday, too. That makes 19 total since January--not as fast as Steve, but my metabolism does run slower. And I'm taking a medication that slows weight loss as a side effect. I don't mind--the slower I lose it, the longer I'll keep it off. But I fully intend to stay on this diet indefinitely and just increase portions a bit when I reach my goal. I really love the whole grains and legumes and all the vegetables. Who knows--maybe I'll go vegetarian!

After the gym we stopped at Tower Video and took advantage of the big sale. I got:

The Triplets of Belleville
The Last Samurai
Torch Song Trilogy
The Wiz
The Sonny and Cher Ultimate Collection
Mary and Rhoda

OK, Mary and Rhoda really sucked when we saw it on TV. The story is set 30 years later--Mary's a widow and Rhoda's divorced yet again. It could have been so much better. But it was on sale for $9.99, and, well, it's Mary, after all.

Steve's cooking cheeseburgers (not quite vegetarian yet, though I do love Morningstar Grillers) and we're going to watch TiVo'ed Ebert and Roeper and later, American Idol. We loves us some pop culture, we does.

I was surprised at how much I liked the morningstar riblets. I frequently eat the morningstar breakfast patties.

Their sausage-y products are great. I also like their Chix patties--make a great sandwich, and I've even done "Chicken" Parmesan with them.

i'm totally frustrated - Richard and I drove around all night looking for The Triplets of Belleville, not one freakin' copy to be found. :-(

Best Buy, Circuit City, Media Play, Costco. Salt Lake sucks.

We usually hit Costco, but it seems the one in South City we go to has reduced their DVD section lately. Tower is generally more expensive, but has a more esoteric collection. The sale offset their usually higher prices. And there's nothing like immediate gratification--everything on my list was right there. And they had tons of Triplets.

We should hang out more!

In fact, we need to find some employer that will pay each of us a 6 figure salary to hang out and have a fabulous time.

That would be awesome!
